Leland Herman Dean age 84, passed away October 19, 1990, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was born November 16, 1905, in Missouri, the son of Newton P. Dean and Artha Cordelia Dean. Married Alma Marie Beitler, March 6, 1927, in Gunnison, Colorado. He never knew a stranger-opened his door to all who needed. Created the saying, `Guess who is coming to supper?,' long before its common use. Worked for Gunnison County (Colorado) for twenty plus years. Also worked for the U.S. Forest Service for fifteen years. His size was only exceeded by his heart to friends, neighbors, strangers and above all else his family, who loved and will miss him dearly.`Good-bye, Papa!'

Survived by his wife, Alma; children, Gwen (husband, Joe) Danni of Gunnison, Colorado; Norma (husband, Verl) Halls of Salt Lake City; Joseph Leroy (wife, Carole) Dean of San Antonio, Texas; Willard (wife, Loni) Dean of Sandy, Utah; Carol (husband, Arlen) Ross of Salt Lake City; Keith (wife, Faye) Dean of Portland, Oregon; and Karen Robbins of Denver, Colorado; 23 Grandchildren, 22 Great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; brother, Riley C. Dean of Las Vegas, New Mexico.

Burial in the Gunnison (Colorado) Cemetery under direction of the Miller Funeral Home.
