A downtown bank was robbed late Friday of $80,000 cash, police said.

Salt Lake Police Lt. Joel Campbell said a man entered First Security Bank, 79 S. Main, at 4:05 p.m. and asked a clerk to cash an $80,000 check. When the clerk returned from the vault with the money, a different man holding a black revolver stopped her and said, "I know who you are; give me the money." The clerk gave the man the cash and he left through the bank's front doors.The man who asked a teller to cash the $80,000 check also left the bank, Campbell said.

The FBI is investigating the robbery.
