Paul James DeVine died Friday morning at the home of his daughter. He was 87 years old.
Born December 7, 1902, to James and Annie DeVine. Married Vilate Pierpont on June 6, 1923. She preceded him in death. Mr. DeVine was president and CEO of the W.H. Bintz Co. until his retirement in 1968. He served as president of the Provo Foundry and Machine Co., Secretary of Central Standard Mines, and President of Tintic Humbolt Mining Co.During his younger years, he gave his talents and much time to his community. He was president of the Community Chest and a member of the first United Fund board. He was president of the Utah Foundation, the Intermountain Electrical Assoc. and was vice president of the Salt Lake Rotary Club. District director of the National Sales Assoc., vice chairman of Radio Free Europe, Chairman of the Salt Lake Red Cross Drive. He was on the board of governors of the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. DeVine was a past member of the University Club and the Country Club, where he served as president. He was also a member of the Alta Club.
Mr. DeVine is survived by: His daughter, Diana Felt, of Salt Lake City; four grandchildren; Sandra Felt Haughey of Dumfries, Virginia; David DeVine Felt, of Kaneohe, Hawaii; Paul DeVine Felt, of Salt Lake City; Suzanne Felt Stahl, of Salt Lake City; also six great-grandchildren.
A private service will be held later. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Community Nursing Service Hospice or a favorite charity. Funeral directors, Neil O'Donnell & Sons Mortuary.
