More rain is in the forecast for the opening of the deer hunt Saturday, but only showers according to the U.S. Weather Bureau.
The latest report from William J. Alder, meteorologist in charge of the Salt Lake office, shows rains tapering off Friday, with showers over most of the state on Saturday. Clearing is expected on Sunday and Monday, with the early part of next week returning to warmer, drier conditions.Snow level early Friday was down to around 7,000 feet. By late Friday it was down to 6,500 feet and by Saturday it was expected to drop to 6,000 feet. As much as a foot of snow fell in higher elevations.
Hunters are reminded that the deadline for buying a big game licenses for this year's deer hunt is midnight tonight.
