Nicaragua's opposition newspaper La Prensa, which reopened six months
ago after a government-ordered shutdown, said it will cease publishing
indefinitely Wednesday because the Sandinistas have withheld newsprint.
The leftist government, which controls the purchase and sale of newsprint
in Nicaragua, said its supply was exhausted and claimed it had warned
newspapers to conserve paper until a new shipment arrives later this month.
