Sixth District Judge Don V. Tibbs has been selected chairman of the District Judges for the State of Utah organization, elected by the board of directors of the 26 district court judges in the state.

Tibbs became district judge in January 1973 and is one of only four in Utah who is the only judge of a district. He hears between 800 and 1,200 cases each year, requiring travel over the wide geographic region of the district, which incudes Sanpete, Sevier, Wayne, Piute, Garfield and Kane counties.
