More than 120 people in three states spent the night searching for a missing plane thought to have crashed, but had actually stopped in Evanston, Wyo., because of bad weather.
A Cessna 182 plane flown by Jack Leverett, Oroville, Calif., was expected to arrive in Elko, Nev., Wednesday evening. When the man and his wife did not arrive as scheduled, a search was called, said Jerry Wellman of the Utah Civil Air Patrol."They had a nice peaceful night in Evanston while we spent the night looking for them," he said.
Wellman said the pilot made a wise decision and is not at fault for the incident because he reported the change to the Federal Aviation Administration.
