Hey there, dude, if you're feeling bold;
You don't do drugs, you want your story told . . .The Utah Federation for Drug-Free Youth, Charter Summit Hospital and Hot 94.9 will sponsor Teen Self-Esteem Day Saturday, Oct. 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Valley Fair Mall.
Students from Von Curtis Academy of Hair Design will provide makeovers. There will be a "Frenzie" fashion show in center court, as well as information on dating, formulas for feeling good and advice on how to get an edge in the job market.
The highlight will be a Rap Challenge. Teens are asked to create a rap song that is 30 seconds or less and expresses feeling good about yourself or being drug-free. Registration is limited to the first 30 entrants. Entry forms and lyric copy must be submitted between 11 a.m. and noon. Performances begin at noon in center court. All participants in the Rap Challenge will receive prizes and be eligible for random prize drawings, including a VCR and camcorder. No gang colors or obscene lyrics or gestures are allowed.
