A cold front moved into the state Tuesday and will bring rain showers and probably snow to about the 6,000-foot elevation by evening.

Areas such as Park City, Alta, Snowbird and Sardine and Logan canyon passes will likely receive a light dusting of snow, said William J. Alder, meteorologist in charge of the Salt Lake office of the National Weather Service.Areas from Ogden north to Cache Valley and into Idaho will have a greater chance of receiving moisture, which in Utah will likely extend as far south as Utah County, Alder said.

The weather will be fair to partly cloudy Wednesday, with the temperature dropping to the 30s Tuesday night and rising to the upper 50s Wednesday along the Wasatch Front.
