Robert Blaser of Bountiful correctly picked 11 of 12 winners in last week's Deseret News Grid Picks contest, missing only the Utah State-Fresno State tie.
As the sole participant with 11 games guessed correctly, Blaser wins the $100 first-place prize and is added to the list of weekly winners who will have a chance at the $25,000 grand prize by correctly predicting the halftime and final scores of the BYU-Utah game next month. Two contestants - Dave Skidmore of Kearns and Bart Cullimore of West Valley City - finished with 10 correct guesses and were the first of the 10 runners-up who will receive Deseret News "Sports Page" T-shirts. The other runners-up included Garth Black of Bountiful, Jason Empey of West Valley City, Pamela Hardman of Salt Lake City, Jerry LeBaron of Bountiful, Wayne John of Fruit Heights, Mike Nicholas of Salt Lake City, Jeff Bolingbroke of Tremonton, and Matt Seeley of Roosevelt.
In the celebrity portion of the Grid Picks contest, the KSL Radio twosome of Chris Tunis and Jim Braden outpicked the Deseret News duo of Doug Robinson and Lee Benson - an 8-4 record for KSL and a 7-5 mark for the Deseret News. However, Robinson-Benson hold a three-game advantage over Tunis-Braden in the season-to-date standings.
