The Utah Occupational and Professional Licensing Division has suspended a Brigham City pharmacist and scheduled a hearing on whether to revoke his state license to dispense controlled substances.

The suspension order claims Kenneth Earl Adams dispensed controlled drugs without prescriptions, the division said.Investigators reported a search of Adams' residence resulted in the seizure of "several controlled substances in unmarked bottles or in the manufacturers' original container," said division spokeswoman Heather Barney.

The order also alleges Adams gave one customer a controlled substance under a prescription from "a Dr. Markeson, when in fact no practitioner had authorized the prescription," Barney said.

The division scheduled a Oct. 23 hearing to determine whether Adams' license to practice as a pharmacist and dispense controlled substances should be revoked.
