The Share Food Pantry, a non-profit organization in the basement of the Trinity A.M.E. Church, 239 E. 600 South, celebrates 22 months of operation this month.

"The operation has been a real success," said pantry founder Nate Goodman. "From January 1989 to June 1990, we served over 3,000 clients, most of them families with children. That is pretty good considering we are only open for four hours a day Monday through Friday."But the cupboards are bare, said Joe Cordova, adding that all food pantries in Salt Lake City are facing food shortages until the traditional Thanksgiving food drives conducted by the Community Services Council.

The pantry needs continued donations of canned food, supplies, clothing and other items. Donations are tax deductible, said Goodman.

Food and other items can be left at the church during pantry hours, 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. For information, call 531-7374.
