Volunteers in non-profit groups who are interested in improving their organizations are invited to participate in a free six-part workshop sponsored by the Junior League of Salt Lake City.
"Six Steps To Success: A Week of Training" runs Monday, Oct. 22, through Friday, Oct. 26, from noon to 1:30 p.m. Topics will include conflict management, group dynamics, facilitation, effective committee membership, decision making, presentation skills, public speaking, negotiation and advocacy.Presenters include Dr. Brent Soffe of the University of Utah's Division of Continuing Education; Dr. Patricia Seybolt of the U.'s College of Business; Joan Betros, owner of White Eagle Productions; Kaye Coleman, director of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action at the U.; Thomas Bennett, director of the law firm of Edwards, McCoy and Kennedy; Frank Pignanelli, minority whip, Utah House of Representatives; and Julie Barrett, development director of Rowland Hall St. Mark's School.
The workshops are free to all non-profit volunteers along the Wasatch Front. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
