Died October 13,1990 in Salt Lake City at age 83.

Born September 7, 1907, the seventh of eight children of Elizabeth Livingston and Thomas B. Child. He married Edith K. Christensen on May 5, 1926 and they spent 64 wonderful years together raising their family and making their way successfully through life. They were sealed for eternity in the Salt Lake Temple and have led exemplary lives as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in which he served as a High Priest in the Holladay 26th Ward.He was a Bricklayer and Masonry Contractor who insisted upon excellence in his work from himself and those who worked with him. Buildings bearing his careful touch are the South High School, Ogden High School, U of U Student Union Building, The Sunset Towers Apartments and many other educational, civic and residential buildings. He was awarded a Gold Card in recognition of over 50 years of membership and service in the Bricklayers Union.

He is survived by his wife; daughter, Marian C. Boyer and her husband Philip; son Franklin L. Child and his wife Patricia; seven grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his son Arthur L. Child, Jr.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October, 17 at 12:00 noon in the Salt Lake City Cemetery, northwest quadrant. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Tuesday evening from 6:30 until 8:30 pm.
