Sara Eubank, left, and Courtney Alva peek into a miniature house Eubank owns, but which is now on permanent loan to the Children's Museum of Utah. This week is National Dollhouse and Miniature Week, and partly in recognition of the celebration an entire village of miniature houses will be on display in January in the Children's Museum south gallery, says museum spokesperson Jacquelyn Conkling. "We just received a Community Development Block Grant to redo the upper south gallery, adding electricity and heat, so we can open it up for additional workshop and exhibit space." The dollhouse shown here is an exact replica of a sea captain's home in North Carolina. It was built by Fred Davis and is valued at $40,000.
