Mark Olson Young, 46, of Eureka, died Saturday, October 13, 1990 at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City.
He was born June 13, 1944 in Provo, a son of George Spencer and Eunice Olson Young. He married Linda Rae Wallace June 18, 1970 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He lived in Provo when he was young. His family moved to Mt. Pleasant and he graduated from Sanpete High School. He attended Snow College for one year before serving in the Army for two years during the Viet Nam War. He graduated from BYU in education and has taught in the Tintic School District for 14 years. He has completed countless numbers of hours in community service and was an EMT. He loved sports, camping and family. He was an active member of the LDS Church and had served in the France Mission. He had also served in a BYU Ward Bishopric, as a Santaquin Stake High Councilman, Eureka Ward Bishop and Youngmen's President.Survivors include his wife, of Eureka; four sons and four daughters, Michael Mark Young, Orem; Robert Verl Young, Joshua James Young, Daniel Olson Young, Catherine Young, Stephanie Young, RoseAnne Young, all of Eureka; Rebecca Young, Provo; three brothers and four sisters, Gail Young, Portland, OR; James N. Young, Salt Lake City; Stephen M. Young, Syracuse; Iloa Gregory, California; Sheryl Cordner, Provo; Marilyn Keyte, Mona; Julane Young, Bountiful.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 17, at 11 a.m. in the Santaquin Stake Center, 90 South 200 East. Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State, Orem, and Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the stake center. Burial will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
