Samuel Wayne Clark Sr., age 72, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, patriot and friend, passed away October 12, 1990 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born December 27, 1917 in Tooele, Utah to Samuel Woolley Clark and Ada Pocock Clark. Married Ruby Maughan, March 16, 1950 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He has four children, three daughters in law, and eight grandchildren. Through his life he has left a long legacy of service to his fellow man. He served an LDS Mission in France and Canada. Served his country from 1942-1955 in the Army and Air Force, achieving the rank of Major. Served as a Senior National Vice Commander of AMVETS. Served in the Utah House of Representatives and Utah State Government as State Personnel Director. Served in various positions as an active member of the LDS Church. He touched the life of all those with whom he associated.He is survived by his wife, Ruby, children, Sam, Debbie, Dan, Paul, brothers and sisters, Florine Armstrong, Elmer, Deon Butler, Lester, Dwight, Shirley McKinnon. Preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Gwen.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 16, 1990 at 12 noon at the Salt Lake Ensign Stake Center, 589 18th Avenue. Friends may call Monday 6-8 p.m. at the Stake Center or one hour prior to the funeral services. Interment, Mountain View Memorial Estates Cemetery. Funeral directors, Memorial Estates Mortuary.
