Artists age 55 and over are invited to submit paintings for "Utah Images," an art show and exhibit sponsored by Equitable Life & Casualty Insurance Co.
The show commemorates the company's 55th anniversary in business.Paintings selected for the show will be eligible for cash awards and will be exhibited in the City and County Building from Nov. 3-17. Also, upon the artist's requests, paintings will be offered for sale to the public during the exhibit.
All entries must be received by 4 p.m. on Oct. 17 at Equitable's home office, 348 E. South Temple, third-floor board room.
Artists wishing to participate may submit up to two paintings in any medium based on a Utah theme. Paintings must be no larger than 36-by-50 inches and be suitably framed for hanging. Watercolors larger than 16-by-20 inches should be mounted with plexiglass.
Artist information and, if desired, the price of the painting should be firmly attached to the back of each submission. All entries should be individually insured by the participating artist.
Works will be judged by Ann K. Stewart, assistant curator of art and education services at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts, and Joe Marotta, chairman of the University of Utah Art Department.
