The 2nd annual Health Fair and Powwow is scheduled Saturday, Oct. 13, from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Indian Walk-In Center, 120 W. 1300 South, to educate the public on health prevention and cultural awareness.

Information will be available on the high rates of diabetes and hypertension among American Indians as well as on drug and alcohol abuse, AIDS, family planning, federal programs and other health-related issues.Dancers and drum groups are invited to participate in the grand entry for the powwow at 1 p.m. to help share the American Indian culture. Arts and crafts booths also will be set up.

The event is being held by the Indian Health Care Clinic, a private, non-profit organization.
