Jack E. Hopfenbeck, 73, Kalispell, Montana, died on September 26, 1990 of respiratory failure at Kalispell Regional Hospital.

He was born February 16, 1917, Salt Lake City, Utah, and lived there most of his life. He married Arlene Decker, August 9, 1947, Salt Lake City. She preceded him in death in 1980. Mr. Hopfenbeck came to live in Kalispell last year.Survivors include a brother, Robert C. Hopfenbeck, San Mateo, California; two daughters, Kristin Hopfenbeck, Salt Lake City; Jan Frost, Kalispell; two grandchildren, Paige and Jackson Leddy, both Kalispell.

There will be a commemoration of his life in Salt Lake City in Salt Lake City at a later date, where friends and relatives may say good-bye to an old friend. Arrangements and cremation were by the Weatherford Funeral Home & Crematory in Kalispell.
