Former workers of Lomax Exploration Co. in Salt Lake City and Roosevelt, an oil exploration and drilling company, have been certified as eligible for Federal Trade Act benefits, according to Terry L. Burns of the Utah Department of Employment Security.

Burns said the benefits are available to workers laid off on or after June 21, 1989, and before Aug. 24, 1992. These benefits include payment of trade act unemployment and insurance payments, job search and relocation allowances and payment for approved training.Trade affected workers filing for weekly benefits must be enrolled in training and have a waiver of the training enrollment requirement.

Burns advises workers separated from this company within the certification period to report to their nearest department office to apply for these benefits.
