Boats with motors are being prohibited on a number of lakes in the Wasatch-Cache National Forest.

Motors will not be allowed on Trial, Lost, Mirror, Butterfly, Lilly, Teapot, Washington, Moosehorn, Pass, Bud and Bonnie lakes, said Sam Warren, Kamas area district ranger. Motors will be allowed on the Smith and Morehouse Reservoir but boats must be operated at wakeless speeds.Warren said camping restrictions are being imposed near the reservoir. Camping will not be permitted within one-half mile of the reservoir's high water mark except in the Smith and Morehouse and Ledgefork campgrounds.

Warren said the restrictions are being established to reduce user conflicts, protect resources from unacceptable damage and to provide for public safety and a more enjoyable experience for forest visitors.
