The visitors center at Point Supreme at Cedar Breaks National Monument will close Saturday, Oct. 13. The campground there is already closed, the National Park Service reported.

U-148 through the monument is scheduled to remain open until early November when the first heavy snows will close the road. The road will remain open to cross-country skiers, snowshoers and snowmobilers.The portion of U-143 through Cedar Breaks connecting Panguitch with Brian Head and Parowan is maintained by the Utah Department of Transportation and will remain open throughout the winter.
