A female social worker who had a sexual relationship with a married patient, who later divorced and married the social worker, has had her license revoked, an order said.
Joanne Pace Carpenter was a counselor at the Four Corners Mental Health Care Center in Castle Dale in 1987 when she interviewed a married couple regarding their daughter's behavioral problems, the order said.Carpenter also began counseling the husband and later engaged in sex with him, according to the order issued by the state Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing.
At the end of the year the center fired Carpenter, the order said, citing unprofessional conduct as one cause of her termination.
Four months later, the couple divorced and the husband then married Carpenter, the order said.
Carpenter has agreed to have her expired license revoked and to not reapply for it for at least five years.
