With a change of venue almost certain, the second man charged with kidnapping and sexually abusing a Deweyville, Box Elder County, girl in March 1987 has entered a plea of not guilty.

Thomas C. Headley, 31, Snowville, Box Elder County, entered the plea in 1st District Court Monday before Judge VeNoy Christofferson, and asked for a change of venue.Defense Attorney Don Sharp said a change of the trial's location is necessary because of the publicity surrounding the case. "I have a problem with (holding the trial) anywhere on the Wasatch Front," he said.

County Attorney Jon Bunderson agreed.

Headley is accused of kidnapping a 6-year-old girl, then sexually abusing her and releasing her later in Malta, Idaho.

Frank Harvey, 45, a resident of Washington state, was originally convicted of the crime but was granted a new trial and released in January.
