A civil suit seeking $10 million from a white supremacist accused of inciting three "skinheads" to beat a black man to death is not about free speech, it is about murder, a civil rights lawyer said.

Following two days of motions and questioning of potential jurors, a panel of 11 whites and a Japanese-American was seated Tuesday. The jury of nine men and three women will decide the lawsuit filed against Tom Metzger, leader of the White Aryan Resistance and a losing 1980 candidate for Congress in California; Metzger's son; and two Portland skinheads convicted of beating an Ethiopian man to death with a baseball bat in 1988.
