A committee studying the future of paramedic operations in Davis County has found the task to be more complex than anticipated and is asking for another month to make its report and recommendations.

The committee was named a month ago by the Davis Council of Governments to determine if the current paramedic program should continue to be operated by the Sheriff's Department or if it should be turned over to local fire or police departments. The report was due at an Oct. 17 Council of Governments meeting and an Oct. 18 public meeting.

Commissioner Robert D. Rose said the committee has found the issue to be more complicated than anticipated and is asking for a 30-day extension.

Commissioners decided not to set a specific date for the paramedic committee report.
