Elders Waldo P. Call and Helio R. Camargo of the Second Quorum of the Seventy were released during the Saturday afternoon session of LDS General Conference after serving 5 1/2 years in temporary callings as general authorities of the church.
Both currently serve as temple presidents and will continue in those positions, said President Gordon B. Hinckley, first counselor in the church's First Presidency. Elder Call is president of the Mexico City Temple and Elder Camargo is president of the Sao Paulo Temple. Both were called as general authorities in April 1985.Elder Jack H. Grand R. Curtis as his first counselor and Elder Robert
K. Dellenbach as second counselor. Elder H. Verlan Andersen was called to serve as second counselor in the General Presidency of the Sunday School. All are members of the Quorums of the Seventy.
Elders Vaughn J. Featherstone, Jeffrey R. Holland and Monte J. Brough were released as president, first counselor and second counselor, respectively, of the General Presidency of the Young Men. Elder Ted E. Brewerton was released as second counselor in the General Presidency of the Sunday School. Each of the four has received an area presidency assignment requiring him to reside outside of the United States.
