Davis County sheriff's search and rescue members spent several hours Saturday night scouring the Great Salt Lake for a lost boater, who finally found his own way to shore.

Two callers phoned sheriff's dispatchers at about 6:50 p.m. saying they had heard distress calls from an air boat having engine problems and taking on water, said Deputy Don DeVoe.Twenty-two search and rescue members, a boat and an airplane looked for the lost boat until about 10:30 p.m. The boater, whose name has not been released, was towed to the shore at about 10:15 p.m. when he flagged down another air boat.
