A Frenchman who already holds the record for the fastest ascent of Mount Everest has climbed the world's tallest mountain again with two compatriots, the Nepal Tourism Ministry said.

A ministry statement said Marc Batard, a 39-year-old alpine guide, reached the top of the 29,028-foot mountain Friday through the traditional southeast ridge.The statement, citing a radio message from the base camp, said Batard was accompanied by Pascal Tour Naire, a 40-year-old photographer, and the team physician, Christin Janin, 32.
