Beverly Jean Monson died October 4, 1990, at the McKay Dee Hospital.

She was born October 2, 1929 in Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter of Gladwin S. and Dolly Burgon Woodhead. On March 18, 1950 she married Richard W. West; they were later divorced. She married J. Mike Monson September 9, 1967. She graduated from Weber State in 1967. She later earned a Master's degree from Brigham Young University. Her career spanned 21 years with the Utah Job Service. She was the Director of the Ogden office, and later became a District Director for Job Service. She was active in community affairs, having served as President of the YWCA Board of Directors. She was honored as Woman of the Year for her role as a model for women in 1988. She loved to read and travel.Surviving are her husband, Ogden; son, W. Brent West, Ogden; two daughters, Wendy S. West, Fort Worth, Texas; Nancy A. Salt, Logan; four grandchildren; sister, Marjorie DeGooyer, LaJolla, Calif.

Services will be Saturday, 11 a.m. at Leavitt's Chapel of Flowers Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden. Friends may call at the mortuary Friday, 6-8 p.m. and Saturday 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment Ogden City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers famiy requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the YCC of Ogden, Utah.
