The Promethean Players Group, vocalists and actors new to Salt Lake City, will open their new location at 222 S. Main on Saturday, Oct. 6, from 7:30 to midnight.
The Players call their space the Perseus Opera House, whose main feature is a rehearsal/recital hall measuring 90 feet by 40 feet, suitable for a variety of uses.Founders of the Perseus are singers Seth and Maria Hooker, who recently acquired the old Peter Pan billiards parlor for rehearsal of their current project, "Masque," an original musical written by Seth Hooker.
They will make the space available to other performing arts groups in the vicinity for rehearsal and performance at low-rate rental.
Saturday's opening celebration will feature performances by soloists of the Promethean Players, in selections from the operetta "Masque." The general public is invited to attend, and a suggested donation of $3 will aid the opera house.
