An unarmed Soviet hijacker gave himself up to Finnish police at Helsinki airport Friday after forcing a Soviet airliner to Finland, police said.

The aircraft, a 28-seat YAK-40 jet of the Aeroflot airline, was on a domestic flight from Novgorod, 300 miles northwest of Moscow, to Petrozadovsk near the Fenno-Soviet border when it was hijacked.Police refused to identify the hijacker and would not disclose what method he had used to hijack the aircraft.
