Speaking at a five-day crusade that set attendance records at Long Island's Nassau Coliseum, evangelist Billy Graham said "we must redouble our prayers" for a solution to the Persian Gulf crisis.

"If ever a country could be called a part of the Bible land, it is Iraq. History has gone full circle and we are now coming back to these lands," he said."I believe there are some spiritual forces at work - both good and evil - that are beyond our comprehension. This is not another Korea, it is not another Vietnam - it is something far more sinister and far more difficult."

At the Sept. 19-23 crusade, crowds averaged 19,740 a night, crusade officials said, while an average of 1,740 people each night came forward to make commitments to Christ.
