Olympus Bank has opened a new branch inside the Dan's Foods store at Foothill Shopping Center, 1360 S. Foothill Blvd.

The grocery store branch was occupied previously by CrossLand Savings, which has sold its Utah deposit base to First Federal Bank. The new branch office is the bank's first addition since the late 1970s."We chose Dan's Foods Foothill location because of the level of business in the Foothill Shopping Center and the reputation of Dan's Foods as a high quality grocery store operation," said John L. Richards, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Olympus Bank.

Bank hours will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Grand opening festivities are scheduled throughout the week of Oct. 1, and include prizes, balloons and a drawing for a side of beef.

Richards said opening the Foothill office is "part of our previously announced strategy of re-entering the retail banking business."

In the past three months, the bank has introduced a new checking account program and established residential loan production offices in Provo and St. George.

This is the sixth branch for Olympus Bank, a subsidiary of Olympus Capital Corp. The bank's total assets exceed $500 million.
