Lucia Wahlen Checketts, 83, of Logan, died Tuesday, October 2, 1990 at the Sunshine Terrace after a lengthy illness.
She was born August 19, 1907, in Logan, the daughter of Julius and Ann Wahlen. She attended Logan City Schools, graduating from Logan High School. She married Lynn Checketts on June 15, 1932 in the Logan LDS Temple. She was a member of the LDS Church, serving in numerous positions in different auxiliaries. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked as a telephone operator for Mountain Bell, and later as a switchboard operator at Utah State University.She is survived by her husband, Logan; one son, Brent and Sheila Checketts, Farmington; one daughter, Mrs. Ray (Lou Ann) Hlavaty, of Logan; 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one brother, Stanley (Bill) Wahlen, of Murray. She was preceded in death by three brothers.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at noon in the Allen-Hall Mortuary Chapel with Bishop Jay Schvaneveldt conducting. Friends may call at the mortuary Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Providence City Cemetery.
