Salt Lake police are looking for a man who held up a busy supermarket at gunpoint Tuesday night.

At about 7:30 p.m., the man walked into the Smith's Food and Drug Center at 876 E. 800 South, went up to the store's courtesy counter "and presented a long-barreled weapon to the clerk," said Lt. Mark Zelig. The man, who apparently had hidden the gun in the sleeve of a coat, demanded cash and then escaped, Zelig said. The suspect was last seen on foot in the parking lot. No one was injured in the incident.
