Temple University professors agreed to obey a judge's back-to-work order and end a four-week strike Wednesday.

"We're going back and going to work under the duress of the injunction," Jerome Levinthal, a professor of education, said Tuesday. "What we should be getting is an adequate negotiated settlement."The 1,100-member faculty union walked out Sept. 4 over pay and health benefits at the private university, which has 30,000 students. Hundreds of classes never opened because of the walkout, the longest in Temple history.
