Two Spanish Fork girls are improving after suffering injuries in a freak accident last week.
Alyssa Garfield, 6, and Andrea Garfield, 10, were inside an inflated room where children jump on the trampoline-like floor, used to promote Skipper's Seafood 'n Chowder House in Provo. At 6 p.m. Wednesday, strong winds picked the room up and threw it over the roof of the restaurant, a Provo Police dispatcher said.Alyssa has improved from critical to serious but stable condition in Primary Children's Medical Center. She suffered serious head trauma, internal injuries and damage to her legs.
Andrea suffered abdominal and back injuries. Her condition has improved over the week from critical to good and stable, a Utah Valley Regional Medical Center spokeswoman said. She may need back surgery to correct some of the damage, a UVRMC spokesman said.
