A Roy woman who said her scalp is still stinging six months after a treatment she received at a local beauty school is suing the institution for $50,000.

Kim Nutt filed the lawsuit in 2nd District Court, saying the alleged damage occurred last April in the Painter's College of Beauty in Roy.Nutt said she went to the stylists for a "pencil weave" style of hair color change and the next day went back for "restorative" work to return her hair to the original color.

In the suit, Nutt alleges "careless, negligent, unprofessional" hairstyling caused skin and hair damage that ruined her appearance and inflicted humiliation.

Rita Painter, owner of the school, denied the charges and said Nutt had lost in small-claims court.
