J C Penney has recently introduced a line of fashionable clothing geared to women who suffer from stiff or aching joints. A 24-page catalog, "Easy Dressing Fashions," contains the company's first collection of fashionable clothing designed with built-in features to make dressing easier and faster.

One of the major features is the new VELCRO Brand Wavelok fastener, which replaces buttons, hooks and snaps. Wavelok is similar to the original VELCRO, but is lighter, softer and drapes well.Other easy-dressing features include roomier armholes, no back zippers or buttons, pants and skirts with partial or full elastic waists and extra roomy pockets on all skirts, jackets and pants. Skirts and pants also have sturdy fabric pull loops.

The clothes do have buttons, but they are purely for trim, since VELCRO Brand Wavelok fasteners are underneath.

The features are opening up a whole new world of choices for women who suffer from arthritis, rheumatism and other diseases. According to the Arthritis Foundation, 46.2 percent of women in the U.S. over the age of 45 have some form of arthritis (1985 figures).

The 24-page catalog offers a wide selection of classic and updated styles in solid colors and prints, many that readily mix and match. Coordinated accessories are also available.

Although easy-dressing fashions are available for women only, J C Penney will soon come out with a catalog of men's clothing that will make dressing a breeze.

Women who would like to see a copy of the "Easy Dressing Fashions" catalog can find it at any J C Penney catalog desk.
