Christmas cards promoting art work of disabled Utahns can be purchased through the Very Special Arts Utah program. The cards will also be marketed to corporations, stores and individuals throughout the state.
The cards are part of the "Arts of the Challenged," a project that evolved from the ideas and energy of three non-profit agencies: The Junior League of Salt Lake, Camp Kostopulos and Very Special Arts Utah. The artists selected for this year's cards are Harry Taylor and Bryan Russell.
Russell, 12, is a participant in Camp Kostopulos' after-school program. His painting of a Christmas tree is titled "Season's Greetings." Taylor, 31, is a professional artist who lives in Ogden. He worked as the art director for Meridian Publishing for 31 years and now works in his own studio.
The cards sell for $8 for a package of 10. All proceeds will fund art programs of Very Special Arts and Camp Kostopulos. For information on the cards, call 583-4919.
