Zions First National Bank plans to consolidate four of its smaller Utah branches Nov. 2. The branches are in East Carbon, Ferron, Fillmore and the Salt Lake International Airport.

The East Carbon office will be consolidated with Zions' Price office; the Ferron branch will be combined with the bank's Castle Dale office; Fillmore will be merged with the Delta office; and the Salt Lake International Branch will be absorbed by its office at 910 W. 2100 South.Harris H. Simmons, the bank's chief executive officer, said the consolidation in no way reflects a diminished commitment by the bank to be a leading provider of retail banking services. The bank, he said, has added 14 new locations during the past two years. Upon the consolidation, Zions Bank will have 75 branches in Utah.

The bank will attempt to absorb the affected employees into its other offices, Simmons said.
