A North Temple gas station and convenience store was robbed Tuesday night by a knife-wielding bandit who appeared to be under the influence of a drug, Salt Lake police reported.
The robber went to the counter of Smith's Gas and Video store, 905 W. Temple, at about 9:30 p.m. Grabbing the clerk's arm, the robber demanded that he "open the door." The clerk, who was on the telephone when the robber approached, opened the cash register after the robber threatened to stab him with a buck knife, police said.The robber pushed the clerk down, grabbed the cash, and left. The clerk, who followed the robber outside, told police the suspect was clean-cut and appeared to be on drugs.
