A a 4-year-old boy was killed Friday night after he ran into traffic and was struck by a car, Salt Lake police reported.
And a California woman was killed Saturday in a rollover near Parowan, Iron County Sheriff's deputies said.Also, a 14-year-old boy was also seriously injured Friday night while riding his bicycle at the intersection of 800 East and 11400 South.
Those who died are:
David A. Steinfels, 4, Salt Lake City
Wong Lim Mui, 31, San Jose, Calif.
At about 7 p.m., the Steinfels youth ran from behind a parked car near 825 N. Colorado Street (1430 West) into the path of a car traveling south. The boy was taken to Primary Children's Hospital, where he was declared dead.
Investigators of the accident near Parowan said the victim's compact sedan was southbound on I-15 when the auto went through the median, across the northbound lanes and rolled four times about 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
Deputies said her passenger, Robert T. Duong, 32, San Jose, was in serious condition at a Cedar City hospital.
In the auto-bicycle accident, Sandy Police Officer Al Nortz said the boy, whose name has not been released, was riding his bike against the flow of traffic when he bolted in front of a car.
Nortz said the teenager suffered a broken arm, leg and wrist. The victim was transported to Alta View Hospital after the accident and then later flown by helicopter to LDS Hospital where he is in stable condition.
