Mrs. Schenk, age 93, died Friday, September 28, 1990, at St. Joseph Villa.
She was born November 5, 1896, to Mary Ann Osburn Wilson and John Wilson in Lexington, Oklahoma. She married Paul Schenk on March 4, 1918 in Washington, D.C. She and her husband moved to Salt Lake City in 1927.Mrs. Schenk was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist, where she served in many capacities. She also had been in the Browning Society and the Pi Beta Phi and Phi Delta Theta Mother's Club.
She is survived by her daughter an son-in-law, Barbara and Spencer P. Felt; and three grandchildren, Paul and wife, Jon; Marianne and husband, Mano Swartz; and Douglas Felt; and by five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Adeline W. Shirley, Enid, Okla; and one sister-in-law, Geyne Schenk, Loma Linda, Calif. Preceded in death by her husband on January 5, 1967 and by a son, Lt. Paul Schenk, Jr., who lost his life in WW II.
`Nan' possessed a sweetness and quiet dignity which touched all who knew her. She instilled a love of learning and recognition of beauty in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her selflessness and sense of humor endeared her to all. She was dearly loved.
Graveside services will be held Monday, October 1, at 2 p.m., at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Church of Christ Scientitst, 352 East 300 South, or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements are being made by Evans and Early Mortuary.
