Carolyn Jane Barker Talbot, 55, died at her home September 28, 1990 following a lingering illness.
Born May 3, 1935 at Logan, Utah, daughter of William Theron and Ailee Leatham Barker. She married Frank Joseph Talbot November 19, 1954 in Logan, Utah; later divorced. She lived in Bountiful, 1962-78, and in Newton since then. She received her bachelors degree in music from the Utah State University and had been a piano clinician. Member LDS Church, served as organist, chior director, Stake Music Chairperson, composed and directed music for the stake center dedication and played the organ for the Logan Temple dedication, and she served in the Relief Society Presidency.She is survived by two sons, Todd Joseph Talbot, Centerville; Daniel Frank Talbot, Bountiful; daughters, Mrs. Clayton (Laurie) Howell, Mesa, Ariz.; and Gennilyn Talbot, Newton; 13 grandchildren; her mother, Aileen B. Culmsee, Logan; sister, Diane B. Patton, Philomath, Oregon. Preceded in death by two sons, William Barker Talbot and Steven Swift Talbot; and one grandchild, William Ryan Talbot.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 1, 1990, at 12 noon, in the Newton Ward Chapel, with Bishop Douglas R. Bird officiating. Friends may call at the Nelson Funeral Home in Smithfield, Sunday evening 6-8 p.m., and at the Newton LDS Ward Chapel on Monday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Burial will be held in the Newton Cemetery.
