John Herbert Jacob, died September 28, 1990 at his home in Salt Lake City of various illnesses.

He was born August 16, 1911 in Rodewisch, Saxony Germany, the only child of Richard Emil Jacob and Elsa Anna Hahn. He emmigrated to Utah in 1923. Graduated from West High School. He married in the Salt Lake Temple, August 28, 1936, Dorothy Scott Easter. He was a finish carpenter. He served as Ward Clerk for over 20 years under five Bishops in three wards, the last year as Secretary of the High Priest Group. He had a great love of genealogy and grew close to his ancestors.He set a fine example of service, integrity and love for his family who survive him: his wife, Dorothy, four sons and one daughter, Richard John Jacob, Tempe, Arizona; Claudia Ann Anderson, Oak Harbor, Washington; Joseph John Jacob, Salt Lake; Paul John Jacob, Lafayette, Calif.; and Lance John Jacob, Magna; one beloved uncle, Rudolph Hahn, 25 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. They were all his joy.

Funeral services, Tuesday, 12 noon, Salt Lake 14th Ward, 142 West 200 North. Friends may call Monday 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Golden Rule Funeral Home, 4330 So. Redwood Road, and Tuesday, 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
