Our loving Dad, Grandpa and friend, George Owen Spencer, returned to his Heavenly Father on September 27, 1990.
He was born July 27, 1920 in Almo, Idaho to Joseph Horne and Netta Mae Poulton Spencer. Married Ellen Martha Beyler, on July 26, 1940, later divorced. He served his country during World War II. He was a middleweight champion boxer in the Army during his tour of duty. Owen was a welder by trade and worked for CB&I and later at Kennecott Copper, until his early retirement, due to heart disease. He was a good friend and neighbor and loving Dad and Grandpa. Member of the LDS Church.Survived by six children, Mrs. Bruce (Linda) Nance, Mrs. Don (Karla) Thornton, Kent B. and (Lena) Spencer, Mrs. William (Denise) Martinez, Debby Johnson and Steven R. and (Lorraine) Spencer, 24 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, sister, Mrs. David (Lilian) Dittman, three brothers, Dick, Dale and Warren Spencer. Preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Noel, Duane, Raymond and Ellis.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, 11 a.m., Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 So. Redwood Road, where friends and family may call, Monday 7-9 p.m. and also on Tuesday one hour prior to the services. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates. We love you Dad and will miss you during the remainder of our sojourn here.
