Park City won three of the five finals in Saturday's 2A girls' prep tennis state meet Saturday at BYU, with the Miner team claiming its second straight state championship.

The Miners earned individual titles in the Nos. 1 and 2 singles and in the No. 2 doubles, while third-place Rowland Hall won the other two event titles in the No. 3 singles and No. 1 doubles.Park City claimed the team title with 19 points, followed by Grantsville, 13; Rowland Hall, 12; Millard, 2; North Sanpete, 2; Morgan, 1; and Richfield, 1.

Park City's Jenny Vance won the No. 1 singles in three straight-set matches, the final being a 7-6, 6-4 victory over Celeste Parkinson of Grantsville.

In the No. 2 singles, Park City's Carrie Miller overcame a first-set loss to down Sharon Thornton, 0-6, 6-4, 6-1. And in the No. 3 singles, Rowland Hall's Peggy Warner logged her third straight-set triumph with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Grantsville's Katie Peterson in the finals.

The Rowland Hall tandem of Kristen Winger and Susie Palmer claimed a 6-4, 7-6 finals win in the No. 1 doubles over Park City's Heather Circo and Jill Johnson.

And Park City's No. 2 doubles duo of Brooke Coleman and Carrie Bettis outlasted Grantsville's Brook Kemp and Carol Thornton, 6-4, 1-6, 7-6.
